Active Shooter - The Israeli Method

 

Course Summary:  This is our Main 3 day course, which is open to all. This course is one of the most successful and useful courses that we instructed in Israel, mainly to school staff, teachers and students. Students, Consumers, Office Workers, Restaurant and Nightclub employees that operate a large portion of their lives in a workplace environment can suddenly find themselves in very dangerous situations involving a determined and most likely suicidal Active Shooter. We have developed this primary course to assist personnel in dealing with this reality.

Active Shooter Analysis:

 

Mindset of the Hyper-Violent Active Shooter

Rapid threat analysis and acquisition

Terminal Ballistics as it relates to Active Shooter environment

Multiple target engagement

Shooting from cover, barricade and around obstacles

Shooting in multiple lighting conditions

Case studies of Active Shooters in business workplace

Detecting suspicious behavior and body language

Correct deployment of concealed weapon

Identifying profile of workplace violence, Active Shooters

Understanding Control/Access, how to handle it

Understanding structures, angles, evacuation and take-overs.

Light and darkness transitions, using it to an advantage.

Proper evacuation procedures under fire.

Covert communications with Police

Understanding the Levels & Use of Force

Using improvised weapons

Understanding aggressive body language

Leadership & Assertive techniques

Observing/Detecting hidden weapons

Hostage situation, correctly executing instructions

  

Defensive Tactics:

 

Tactical thinking, weapons retention and disarmament

Weapons disarmament including handgun and assault rifles

Fighting in a professional and devastating way to an aggressor

Understanding pressure points and the weak points in the human body

Countering joint locks, grabs, punches, kicks and choking

Ground fighting and countering Brazilian Jui Jit Su

"Trick" fighting tactics and also how to counter them

Correct timing in a street confrontation 

Surviving attacks from Multiple attackers

Countering attacks with broken bottles, chains, batons, tire iron, etc.

Dealing with attacks involving axes, ropes for strangulation, etc.

Surviving in a vehicle surrounded by 3 to 4 armed hostile captors

Physical attack while you are seated in your vehicle

Functioning under extreme stress

Fighting effectively after being partially immobilized or wounded

Handling expert and severe brutal knife attacks from multiple attackers

Knife throwing techniques

Disarming an assailant with a knife or sharp object

Physical & mental conditioning

Developing speed, coordination, stamina, strength, and flexibility

   

Tactical Medicine:

  

Tactical Medicine in a combat environment

Care under the most life-threatening conditions

Priorities of administering first aid under fire

HCAPER - Trauma Casualty assessment, body search

Basic and Intermediate airway management

Open and Closed chest wounds and decompression

TENSION PNEUMOTHORAX

Hemorrhage management including tourniquet use

Patient Assessment: Triage, Primary and Secondary Surveys

The realities of setting up an efficient triage system

Basic and Intermediate Airway Management

Hemorrhage/Bleeding Management–Tourniquets/Hemostatic Agents

Basic Life Support: Artificial Respiration & CPR

Cervical Spine Injuries and Immobilization

Musculo-skeletal Injuries and Splinting

Emergency Wound Care and Infection Management

Environmental Emergencies (heat, cold, drowning)

Burns and Blast Injuries

  

Tactical Shooting.  Must have prior Tier II weapons experience:

      

Tactical Israeli Point Shooting.

Advanced pistol and rifle operations.

Simulative, instinctive and reactive shooting.

Magazines changes

Shooting while kneeling.

Shooting from the prone position.

Shooting while failing back (surprise exercises).

Shooting at moving targets (side, front, diagonal).

Shooting while injured and disoriented.

Shooting while in motion (running, walking).

Shooting from and around cover.

Using cover while shooting:  left, right, above, below.

Quick recovery from weapon jams (Immediate action drills).

Weapons transition (pistol to rifle).

Dynamic movement forward and backwards (bounding)

High emotional and mental pressure and tension exercises.

   

 


   

Student-Provided Recommended Equipment:  Notebook, pen and pencil, sunscreen, hydration system, shooting glasses, ear protection, appropriate clothing for seasonal inclement weather (hot, cold, rain or snow), weapons cleaning kit, (knit cap and brimmed) hat, knee and elbow pads, hiking or tactical boots, pants with cargo pockets, shooting gloves, tinted glasses, multi tool, range bag, and thumb drive for class photos. 

  

Weapons:  C.R.I. does have a limited number of weapons, (i.e. Glock 17, AR-15 & AK-47) available to be reserved on a first come, first register basis, to prospective students.

  

Ammunition:  Students must provide all ammunition needed for the course (9mm, 223 and 7.62x39).  This can also be purchased from CRI at our wholesale cost or shipped to us prior to the course.

      

Prerequisites that must be completed PRIOR to beginning the Training Course: Due to the extensive nature of the training during our courses, a background investigation will be conducted.  90% of all applicants are accepted.  You will need to provide some form of criminal records - non felony conviction proof, such as a state issued C.C.W. card, weapon registration card, state background check, or DD-214, vetting you.  Persons who are convicted felons, have a documented history of mental illness, need not apply. C.R.I. reserves the right to adjust or change curriculum, dependant on time or student comprehension.  Post 20% of the course start, there are NO refunds.
