Course Summary:  This course will develop the participants as team members, as well as individuals, in force protection and countering guerrilla warfare.  All exercises cover from basic soldier levels to command levels. Subjects from the Course Outline:

4)  Route Planning

 

  • Risk assessment  

  • Deception used by the enemy to influence route planning

  • Alternative routes, choke points, danger areas, safe areas, emergency services, planned construction and expected traffic patterns

  • Case studies on how poor route planning can cause the deaths of military and other critical personnel  

  • Identifying hostile populations

 

5)  Basic and Intermediate Off-Road Driving

 

  • Hands on driving training with SUV’s, HUMMV’s and sedans in off-road and cross country environment as requested  

  • Terrain and weather assessment in relation to vehicle mobility  

  • Vehicle capability and limits  

  • Preserving the vehicle in relation to weather, terrain and environment

 

6)  Basic ATV All-Terrain Driving

 

  • Driving through obstacle courses  

  • Driving on rocks and deep sand  

  • Crossing falling trees  

  • Crossing ravines  

  • Techniques on how to climb and descend from steep hills  

  • Driving through mud and on uneven roads  

  • Recovery and self recovery  

  • Use of winches, cables, straps, D shackles, high-lo jack, pull pal and 2x4’s

7)  Evasive, Offensive and Defensive Driving Skills/Counter Force-Off Tactics

 

  • Professional driving skills used by secret service, Special Forces, police and bodyguards

  • Winches, cables, straps, D shackles, high-lo jack, pull pal and 2x4’s  

  • Improvising recovery tools

  • Braking techniques and skid control maneuvers  

  • Surprise new off-road recovery techniques exclusively developed by CRI  

  • Handling multiple vehicles that are attempting to force the vehicle off road

  • Understanding over/under steering a vehicle

  • Rescuing a follow soldier held at gunpoint

9)  Dead Man Takeover Exercises
 
  • Vehicle recovery with driver disabled (wounded, in shock, etc.)

  • Gaining control of the steering wheel and pedals from the side and rear

  • Performing evasive, offensive and defensive maneuvers including ramming, Pit maneuver and counter Pit Maneuver (“fishtailing”)

  • Maneuvering the vehicle around tight corners

  • Escaping from a pursuing vehicle

 

10)  Team/Team Member Recovery Under Attack

 

  • Extinguishing a teammate in flames

  • Handling fire in the vehicle from a Molotov Cocktail or a fire bomb

  • Reacting to a hand grenade thrown into an occupied vehicle

  • Evacuating under enemy sniper (counter sniper)

  • Evacuating wounded teammates under fire

  • Secured withdrawal to safe cover  

 

11)  Less Lethal Weapons & Tactics

 

  • Familiarization and use of CS gas, grenades, stun guns, Tazers, rubber bullets, paintball technology for riot control including heat and burning affects

  • Tactical use of pepper spray and expandable batons

  • Functioning correctly in lynch-type scenarios

  • Rescuing a team being lynched

  • Tactical use of CS gas  

 

12)  Terminal Ballistics Involved in Vehicle Attacks

 

  • Results of shooting a vehicle

  • Shooting at the windshield, rear window and tires

  • Shooting at the body of the vehicle (doors, engine block, trunk)

  • Penetrating of different calibers on the vehicle (9mm, 40, 45, 5.56, 7.62)

  • Deflection of rounds on a windshield

 

13)  Field Expedient Bulletproofing

 

  • Live-fire tests with:  

  • Sandbags (dry/wet)  

  • Phonebooks  

  • Paper reams  

  • Compacted newspaper

 

14)  Using a Vehicle as Cover

 

  • Using vehicles as cover against shooters and explosives  

  • Areas of the vehicle that provide the best protection  

  • Taking cover behind the vehicle in relation to shooting from different angles and heights  

  • Taking cover behind the vehicle while under fire from several directions  

 

15)  Live Fire From a Vehicle During an Ambush

 

  • Static and dynamic shooting from inside a vehicle (handguns and assault rifles)  

  • Shooting from sedans, SUV’s and HUMMV’s  

  • Shooting tactics from a static and moving vehicle to counter ambushes (short, medium and long range)  

  • Shooting techniques from braking contact  

  • Shooting techniques to create contact (assault)  

  • Eliminating an ambush under pressure of time  

 

16)  Force on Force Counter Ambush Tactics

 

These exercises will be performed on three levels:  Individual, Team and Command  

  • Each solider will protect themselves using shooting and defensive tactics  

  • Unconventional shooting methods during various exercises  

  • Shooting from vehicle while driving  

  • Exercises of force on force around vehicles, homes, offices and on streets  

  • Realistic counter sniper exercises using scope rifles

·         Basic & Advanced CQB

·         Dynamic drills using handguns and assault rifle (if using handguns)

·         Engaging various targets

·         Shooting at moving targets

·         Shooting in low visibility (smoke, fire, fog, darkness)

·         Shoot/don’t shoot drills and exercises

 

17)  Defensive Tactics

 

  • Weapons disarmament including handguns and assault rifles

  • Knife fighting

  • Disarming an assailant with a knife or sharp object

  • ITS (Israeli Tactical Survival) special defensive tactics method developed by CRI that instructs how to effectively deal with severe crime and terrorist attacks in the field of hand-to-hand combat  

 

18)  Survival Behind Enemy Lines

 

  • Releasing from being tied by a rope, duct tape, wire and handcuffs  

  • Escaping from captivity

  • Improvising/creating weapons  

  • Surviving beheading attempt

  • Surviving execution attempt

  • Stealth techniques

           


   

Student-Provided Recommended Equipment:  Notebook, pen and pencil, sunscreen, hydration system, shooting glasses, ear protection, appropriate clothing for seasonal inclement weather (hot, cold, rain or snow), weapons cleaning kit, (knit cap and brimmed) hat, knee and elbow pads, hiking or tactical boots, pants with cargo pockets, shooting gloves, tinted glasses, multi tool, range bag, and thumb drive for class photos.  (No camouflaged clothing please.)

 

Provided by CRI:  Course materials, weapons (when part of the course - Glock 17 & AR-15), 600 rounds, meals during training, ear and eye protection, soft body armor, knee and elbow pads, holsters.

 

Prerequisites that must be completed PRIOR to beginning the Training Course: Due to the extensive nature of the training during this course, a thorough background investigation will be conducted on all persons registering.  CRI School reserves the right to require any trainee to undergo a polygraph test administered by CRI regarding any possible affiliation to a terrorist and or criminal organization. Persons who are convicted felons, have a documented history of mental illness, or have been convicted of domestic violence crimes (misdemeanor or felony) need not apply.
